Food moth eggs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Food moth eggs are very difficult to spot, even when you know there is an infestation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What do these eggs look like?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Size:<\/strong> approximately 0.3 to 0.5 mm, invisible to the naked eye.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Colour:<\/strong> off-white to pale yellow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> always deposited in contact with food, as the larvae feed immediately after hatching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hatching time: <\/strong>4 to 7 days: heat (between 20 and 30\u00b0C) promotes faster hatching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Most infestations are caused by eggs already present in food at the time of purchase<\/strong>. It is an insect that flies slowly and erratically. <strong>These butterflies do not eat your food, but they reproduce by laying eggs<\/strong>. You can usually see them around kitchen lights, window sills, open cupboards or when you lift up an infested packet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you see one or more adult moths,
